New Heritage Ministries Director

I have been privileged to serve as Heritage Ministries Director and Fields of the Wood Manager for the past two years. It has been an honor to serve the church in this capacity.

In our recent International Assembly, Wade Patterson was appointed as the new Heritage Ministries Director and Fields of the Wood Manager. This transition is scheduled to take place on September 1st.

I would like to thank Wayne and Jenna Allen for all their hard work as Properties & Building's Manager and Gift Shop & Cafe Manager. The Allen's and the entire Fields of the Wood staff are top notch and it has been my privilege to work with them. The Allen's will continue to serve in the same capacity at Fields of the Wood.

My thoughts and prayers are with Bro. Wade as he continues to encourage our church to preserve our heritage and pursue vision

Blessings,

Paul Holt

Heritage Day 2010

This past Saturday, we celebrated Heritage Day at Fields of the Wood. It was a celebration of where we have been and where we are going.

We had a strong representation of youth and children. There was also a very strong delegation from our Southeast Region, which prompted us to add a new wrinkle to the event – translation. It turned out to be a great day and we give God the Glory for being with us!

I would like to thank Perry and Kay Horner for their hard work with the children. Perry did face painting for five hours on Saturday!

I would like to thank our Fields of the Wood staff for all their hard work.

A special thanks to all who ministered:

Laramie Rodriguez and the Calhoun Georgia Church Praise Team

Several from the Southeast Region

Wildwood Church Choir

Shelly Wilbanks and the F3 Worship Team

Bishop Winston Reid

Darren Schalk

Mike Luithle

Translators – Benjamin Feliz, Gabriel Vidal, and Laramie Rodriguez

Bro. Tito who took up an offering and raised $380.00!

I would like to give an extra big THANK YOU to the Marion, OH Church. They came up early and spent all day Friday working at the Park. During that time, they were able to paint ALL of the commandments on Ten Commandment Mountain and paint a great number of the steps in the park.

In attendance, there was a representation from several states/regions, some of our International Office staff, and area churches. Thanks to all who attended!

From beginning to end, it was a blessed day.

Congratulations to Harvest Christian Fellowship

My wife and I traveled to Knoxville, TN to be in service with Pastor Ken Dyer at Harvest Christian Fellowship for their 15th Anniversary service. Pastor Dyer has been a great friend for many years and we always enjoy visiting at HCF. It was a wonderful service and the unveiling of their newly renovated sanctuary. The sanctuary is absolutely beautiful.

HCF had their first service on May 5, 1995 at Gresham Middle School in Knoxville. They now have a nice campus that is totally debt free. Their ministry focuses on serving the community and the Lord has used them. In their Food Pantry, 73,000 bags of food have been distributed with people being saved, healed, and encouraged. Their participation with the courts in Restorative Justice has helped young people get on the right track. They are always looking for ways to touch their community

Some churches could close and the community would never notice they were gone. Not so with HCF. They are a serving church and their departure would leave a great void in the community. Congratulations HCF! You are just getting started. The best is not behind you, it is yet ahead!

Location Announced for Assembly in 2012

The Assembly Task Force Chairman announced today the selection of the site for the 2012 International Assembly. The 97th International Assembly will be held at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Kentucky, July 24—29, 2012.

The Kentucky International Convention Center is easily accessible by car, plane, and even trolley! Major interstates I-64, I-65, and I-71 all lead straight to downtown Louisville, the convention center's home. In fact, the location makes the facility within a day's drive of over half of America's population. For visitors traveling by plane, the Louisville International Airport resides just 10 minutes away from the convention center. Upon arrival in Louisville, visitors have 10,000 hotel and motel rooms to choose from - 2,000 of which are within walking distance or trolley ride of the convention center.

Tennessee COGOP Marriage Retreat

My wife and I enjoyed a great weekend at the Tennessee Marriage Retreat. We pastored for almost twenty years in Tennessee and it is always wonderful to fellowship with the people of this state.

The McKinley's along with the Marriage Enrichment Board did an excellent job organizing the retreat. Tim & Karen Harper blessed and challenged us as the special speakers.

It was the 25th Anniversary of Marriage Retreat's in Tennessee. A special thanks to Eugene and Juanita Weakley for their vision in getting this started 25 years ago and to the overseer's that followed for building on this vision. This vision for families has added to the rich heritage in Tennessee.

2010 Memberhip Campaign is in full swing

The 2010 Heritage Ministries Association membership campaign is in full swing.

In the next few weeks, Church of God of Prophecy pastors in North America will receive a packet of information and resources to assist them in promoting Heritage Ministries in their local church.

In 2009, I was privileged to visit several of our local churches, attend a number of State Conventions, and participate in retreats & conferences. It was great to meet so many wonderful people and discover strong support for this ministry. I would like to thank all those who supported Heritage Ministries & Fields of the Wood in 2009.

Blessings,
